Portrait on Thomas González in Weltkunst Magazine

Updated: Aug 14, 2023

One of the most important german magazines on art and antiquities, the Weltkunst magazine, reports on Thomas González activities an an art dealer. “The art market is in a state of flux,” González says, “the old models are not working anymore. Many galleries close, even those that have decades of tradition. The market has become much more global and more specific. I’m counting on finding objects in auctions that are inappropriately attributed and therefore very cheap”, he remarks. That is all the more true with the appereance of art investment and the financialization of the art market. Art financing and art lending are means to bring additional liquidity into the market.
